Wild Card TV update…
After Monday night’s action the prospect of having at least one single-game Wild Card tiebreaker game on Thursday grows ever closer.

In the American League, Baltimore beat Boston at Camden Yards while the Rays turned over the Yankees in front of their jubilant home fans at the Trop. This puts the Rays and Red Sox in a tie for the Wild Card lead with just two games to go apiece.
The NL Wild Card leading Braves also lost last night, at home to the Phillies. However, St. Louis squandered the chance to tie up the race as they lost to Houston in the 10th inning. This leaves the Braves still leading by one with two games to play.
Tonight’s live action on TV sees the aged and corpular Bartolo Colon on the mound for the Yankees against Rays rookie Jeremy Hellickson. First pitch is at ten minutes past midnight, GMT, on ESPN America.
N.B. Wednesday night’s ESPN America schedule has been updated: the live game will be Boston @ Baltimore at midnight, last game of the regular season and crucial no matter what happens in tonight’s games. Mental note: don’t set early alarm on Thursday morning…
